HGV Mechanic Job Overview

Our client are a leading Waste Management firm that have UK and European wide coverage. Due to expansion they are actively looking for a skilled HGV Mechanic to join their team. You will be working within a small team of HGV technicians. You’ll work on a modern and diverse fleet of RORO, Artic & Rigid HGV’s and Trailers.

HGV Mechanic Job Overview

• Carry out both scheduled, servicing, inspections, Pre-MOT inspections and unscheduled repairs to a high standard
• MOT Presentation
• Fault diagnosis
• Welding and fabricating
• Attend internal and external training
• Complete all paperwork in a timely and accurate manner

HGV Mechanic Job Requirements

• Relevant engineering qualification (preferably within the motor transport sector).
• Ability to diagnose and rectify faults
• Basic hydraulic knowledge
• Good health and safety awareness
• Must be able to work under their own initiative with a flexible approach to meeting the needs of the customer (internal)

HGV Mechanic Job Package & Benefits

• Salary £46,000 - £50,000
• Overtime rates 1.5 times over standard hours and 2x on Sundays and Bank Holidays
• Monday – Friday Core Hours
